Actor turned author Twinkle Khanna was busy spending her lockdown days with husband Akshay Kumar, kids and family at her home. She constantly shared pictures of her enjoying her day doing fun activities and gave fans a sneak-peek of how things happen in her household. As Twinkle is always known to speak her mind freely, she recently came out in defence of those publicising charitable acts. The author responded to the criticism of those who announce their humanitarian gestures on social media and said there is no harm in doing so.
On Twitter, author Kiran Manral made a tweet criticising people who showcase their humanitarian gestures on social media, like a ‘badge of honour’. Kiran tweeted, “Folks putting their acts of kindness up on the TL like a badge of honour. The true act of kindness is the one you never speak about, but carry within you as a memory of how once, you were blessed enough to be able to help someone.” The author said that true act of kindness is the one you never speak about, but carry within you as a memory.
Twinkle Khanna read the tweet made by Manral and reacted to it. Defending people who put their acts of kindness on social media, Twinkle responded and tweeted, “I am not so sure. If it encourages others to be kind than why not? And really a competition between who is more generous and is helping those in need is better for everyone than any other sort of competition.” The author said that she is not ‘sure’ and feels no harm in publicising charitable acts as it can also encourage another person to be kind.
